Today we awoke to a chilly morning on the barren plains surrounding Mount Kili.
Through the day we clamoured up rocky slopes and trudged through dusty paths, all of us starting to feel the altitude of over twelve thousand feet. Throughout the day's climb, we enjoyed stunning and picturesque views of the surrounding wilderness and many breaks were taken to allow for picture taking.
We have learned that proper hydration, nourishment and a slow but steady pace are all necessary for a successful climb.
All were eager for a hot cup of tea or hot chocolate when we arrived at the bitterly cold Moir Camp with Kilimanjaro's snow-covered summit looming over us.
