What is the Climb?

CODE’s Kili Climb Summit for Literacy provides a story for a lifetime. It welcomes individuals to undertake the personal challenge of climbing the tallest peak of Africa inspired by both the majesty of the mountain and the young children in Africa they are supporting in learning how to read and write through their efforts. Climbers will create stories for their lifetime while providing the chance for young children to enjoy a lifetime of stories.

What is the Climb For?

The Summit for Literacy is an adventure that serves to increase awareness and raise much needed funds in support of CODE’s programming that delivers literacy and learning initiatives for children in exceptional need in Africa. With programming in Africa, the Caribbean and Canada amongst First Nations, Inuit and Métis youth, CODE works to train teachers and librarians, make accessible high quality and culturally relevant reading materials and resource safe and inspiring libraries.
